Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys claims that Valorant will be replacing Overwatch as the top character-based shooter game.
Riot Games is really looking forward to dominate the FPS genre with there upcoming release.
Riot Games have released a gameplay video of the next FPS game Valorant.
Valorant is a character-based game where each character has their own set of abilities.
However, from the gameplay video, it seems that the game is a mixture of CS: GO mechanics and Overwatch characters.
Pokimane says Valorant will overthrow Overwatch
Pokimane is a popular Twitch streamer who streams a variety of games.
However, on her offline tv podcast with Team SoloMid streamer, Ali ‘Myth’ Kabbani she started comparing two games Blizzard’s Overwatch and Riot Games’ Valorant.
After some exchange of words and mixed thoughts on whether it will be next big FPS title or not she said “I think it might be the Overwatch killer,” to which William ‘Scarra’ Li sarcastically responded, asking: “Do you think there needs to be a game for that to happen?”.

Pokimane then discusses how Overwatch was a couple of years back “The more I think about it, and I think about Overwatch’s decline, this is just going to be the last nail in the coffin really.”
Jeremy ‘Disguised Toast’ Wang mentioned how Overwatch’s competitive league’s setup was ruined by Activision Blizzard. “Overwatch kind of just ruined their competitive league, with just how it was set up,” Wang opened.
“You have to fly to places to play and they inflate their numbers, and then they sell it to sponsors, then the sponsors are like, ‘wait something’s not adding up.’”
However, it is clear that the Facebook streamer was talking about Franchised overwatch league where players are having some difficulties setting up.
Some of Pokimane’s point is valid as both games share so many similarities, but it is still to see whether the game will be up tom mark or not.
