mw2-and-warzone-2-officially-delayed-for-next-month

MW2 and Warzone 2 are officially delayed according to an announcement from the developing company Activision.

Warzone 2 is experiencing a drop in player numbers, and content providers have threatened to leave if things don’t change.

Members of the community have expressed specific dissatisfaction with the battle royale sequel’s new looting system, Gulag, and Loadout Drop costs.

A datamine on January 17 showed a potential delay for the second season of MW2 and WZ2.

Season 1 has now lasted over two months, and the player base’s patience is wearing thin.

The development team verified the community’s greatest worries when they announced a Season 2 delay, but they also soothed players by teasing substantial changes.

Why are MW2 and Warzone 2 officially delayed?

Activision issued an official statement on January 18, delaying Season 2 until February 15, meaning MW2 and WZ2’s first season will be roughly three months long.

Finally, the announcement confirms the launch of a new small-scale Resurgence map, Ranked Play, and additional multiplayer maps and weapons.

“Modern Warfare II and Warzone Season 2 will be launching on February 15. Our studio teams are focused on major quality of life changes and fixes for our players. Season 2 includes all new content, with the return of Resurgence and a brand new small map for Warzone 2. Ranked Play is also back, along with new Multiplayer maps, new modes, weapons and MUCH more. Stay tuned for additional intel”. – ACTIVISION

Infinity Ward also previewed improvements to Warzone 2’s Gulag, looting, and loadout systems, which will be described in greater detail in a deep-dive blog next week.

We will update you if any other news comes out from the developers in near future.
