Genshin Impact Nilou abilities and everything we know so far

The official introduction of Nilou was as a supporting character in Genshin Impact.

According to the officials, she is able to change certain Elemental reactions effects under specific conditions.

And, her Elemental Skill has two different movement sets, dealing Hydro damage and applying Wet to enemies, while her Elemental Burst deals AoE Hydro damage.

In Nilou’s normal attack she is able to perform almost three consecutive sword attacks.

And her charged attack will take away some of her stamina to perform a twirling slash.

Elemental Skill: Dance of Haftkarsvar (Sword Dance)

Nilou’s elemental ability in Genshin Impact allows her to enter a Pirouette state and deal hydro damage to nearby enemies based on Nilou’s max HP.

While in this Pirouette state, Nilou’s normal attack and elemental abilities will give her the ability to perform Sword Dance and Whirling Step stances respectively.

In the Sword Dance stance, Nilou’s third dance move breaks the Pirouette state, and then it will unleash a Luminous Light which does Hydro damage to enemies she touches, and while dealing damage Nilou gains the Lunar Prayer effect.

This effect turns Nilou’s three consecutive basic attacks into Sword Dance techniques and her final stroke will unleash a Luminous illusion.

Elemental Skill: Dance of Haftkarsvar (Whirling Steps)

The second moveset from her elemental ability is Whirling steps, and the difference is that this stance unleashes the Whirling Water Wheel, which deals AoE hydro damage and also creates an aura of calm that follows the active character to wet the enemies present inside the AOE.

In simpler terms, Sword Dance is an ability only Nilou can benefit from, as it needs to hit enemies in order to use Luminous Illusion.

Whirling Steps benefits the entire team as the Aura of Tranquility remains active even when changing characters.

Elemental Burst: Dance of Abzendegi: Distant Dreams, Listening Spring

Compared to Nilou’s elemental ability, her burst is much easier to understand. Nilou’s Elemental Burst in Genshin Impact blossoms a distant Water Lotus, which deals AoE Hydro damage based on Nilou’s max HP, and applies the Lingering Aeon effect to every enemy hit by the explosion.

After a few seconds, enemies affected by Lingering Aeon take damage from Hydro.

Passive Talent: Court of Dancing Petals

One of Nilou’s passive talents in Genshin Impact is Court of Dancing Petals and can only be activated when all characters in the party are Dendro or Hydro and there is at least one Dendro character and one Hydro character in the party.

When these requirements are met, whenever Nilou completes the third dance step of her Haftkarscar Dance (Elemental Skill), Nilou grants all nearby characters the Bounty of the Golden Chalice for 30 seconds.

Characters with the Golden Chalice bounty effect increase the Elemental Mastery of all nearby characters by 100 for 10 seconds each time they are hit by Dendro’s attacks.

This shows that Nilou fits Bloom team comps better since exploded Dendro Cores also deal Dendro damage to active characters.

Also, activating Bloom’s reaction will produce Bountiful Cores instead of Dendro cores.

Bountiful core damage is considered damage dealt by Dendro Cores spawned by Bloom in Genshin Impact.

The difference is that the older cores explode much faster after they are created. , and also have a larger AoE compared to the latter.

However, it is important to note that Bountiful Cores cannot activate Hyperbloom or Burgeon and share an upper numerical limit with Dendro Cores.

Note that if the party does not meet the requirements for this passive talent, any existing Golden Chalice bounty effects will be removed.

Genshin Impact players should only team up with Dendro and Hydro characters to activate this passive ability, considered Nilou’s top asset in maximizing her damage output.

So this is everything we know so far about the Genshin Impact Nilou abilities.
