Fortnite PC aim assist nerfed after Epic Games released an unannounced 12.61 hotfix on May 28, the code is revealed by prominent data miner Lucas7yoshi.

Fortnite PC aim assist is a big topic of debate in the community and players
has been requesting for a nerf since a long time, On May 19 Epic Games finally
announced that they are going to nerf the Aim assist on PC.

Some Fortnite pro players like Ninja refers Aim Assist as installing ‘Aimbot’
on the PC, while Bugha and Tfue said they will not play the game until it is fixed.

On May 19 Epic Games annnounced that a fix will be rolling out soon after FNCS
tournamen is over, and it looks like it is here.

Fortnite PC aim assist nerfed – v12.61 hotfix

Epci games rolled out the v12.61 patch hotfix live on May 28, according to
data miner this fix will target aim assist on PC, however, there was no official
announcement from any of Epic Games official.

But, the information we are getting is from a prominent data miner ‘Lucas7yoshi’,
he shared this information via a tweet saying,

“A hotfix was deployed adjusting aim assist on Windows and Mac, I do not know what these values exactly mean, but after a restart of your game/going into a match they should be applied (Windows and mac only)”

According to data miner hese updated  ‘Gamepad.AimAssist’ strings would only come into effect once players “restart the game” or “load into a Fortnite match”. The unannounced hotfix has been shipped for both PC and Mac.

Here are the four code string changes made in the hotfix:

  • PullInnerStrengthHip ⁠— reduced from 0.60 to 0.45.
  • PullOuterStrengthHip — reduced from 0.50 to 0.38.
  • PullInnerStrengthAds — reduced from 0.70 to 0.52.
  • PullOuterStrengthAds — reduced from 0.40 to 0.30.
