Hoyoverse revealed that Tighnari from Genshin Impact would replace Elliot Gindi’s lines. Gindi is the character’s English voice actor, but she has lately been accused of sexual assault.
The claims originally surfaced when a Fretcore server moderator published a Google document documenting Gindi’s history of sexual misconduct.
They accused the voice actor of having sex with a teenage admirer and soliciting a juvenile in the post. He is also accused of being transgender, sexist, and emotionally abusive.
Leaked messages between Gindi and his victims back up the charges. In several photographs, he may be seen threatening to kill himself in order to put fans under pressure. Following that, many people demanded that Gindi cease acting, and other comedians came out to support the victims.
Hoyoverse has now revealed in a post via Genshin Impact’s Twitter account that all of Gindi’s dialogue would be replaced in the game over the following three months.
Elliot Ginidi’s voice being removed
“We hereby confirm that Elliot Gindi, the English voice actor for Tighnari will no longer be voicing the character in subsequent versions due to a breach of contract” the tweet read.
The developers claim they’re now working with voice recording organizations to find a successor, so the transition won’t be instantaneous. It is unknown who will succeed Gindi, but the transition will be gradual.
Many characters from the Genshin community and other in-game voice actors can be seen thanking Hoyoverse for rapidly getting rid of Gindi, including Anne Yatco, who voices Hu Tao, Brianna Knickerbocker, and Raiden Shogun, Anne Yatco.
Elliot Gindi did not comment on his withdrawal from the game, but he did issue a statement in response to the claims, admitting guilt and apologizing.
